The last few days have been stressful, so I treated myself to lunch! It was a spur-of-the-moment decision. I had a foot doctor appointment at 10am, then ran a few errands. My right foot has been bothering me because I walk everyday to burn calories. When the x-ray technician entered the room, he smiled and extended his hand to shake my hand. He was tall, young and good-looking. After taking my foot x-ray, he told me that I reminded him of his grandmother. I laughed to hide the pain I felt … I am technically still in my fifties. I have never had anyone look at me and say I reminded them of their grandmother. He apologized and said he meant it as a comment. I laughed again and said, “Actually I am old enough to be your grandmother.” After leaving the medical building, it felt like the right time to pamper myself. I stopped at Bare Bones restaurant, and ordered the Chicken BLT wrap, with butter beans and broccoli. It was so tasty, and the butter beans soothed my hurt feelings. When I walked out of the restaurant, I felt like a new person! My tummy was full and my taste buds were satisfied.
